Try on before you buy. I had to get an XXL because I am broad in the shoulders and wide in the chest from lifting weights. I love the jacket. It really keeps you warm by keeping the wind out.

Used as a outer layer for running and when a heavy jacket is not needed. Unless it's bitter cold, this jacket works great. Breathable and light.

This jacket fits a little snug if you have broad shoulders. I have worn it out in the weather and it has held up greatly. My core is not cold at all since the wind cannot get to it.

I bought this jacket for the purpose of running a marathon in it. Marathon conditions were between 32 - 40 degrees, light wind and occasional moderate rain. Great protection from the elements. This jacket can really take a beating! After about 4 hours, since starting, the inside of the jacket from my own sweat began to get frigid. Only issues were it's breathe-ability, but that was only an issue after running 20 miles in it.
Not to mention this is a great casual jacket to wear out.

At first glance the Jacket is very thin and light weight which gave me the idea that it wasn't going to stand up. Turns out, this jacket is light weight, stylish and most of all practicle when going either in the woods or your way to work or class. The only thing thats missing is the gurentee that it will keep you dry in a down pour and not just a light rain.....Trust me they make rain coats for a reason

This is a great jacket. The rain beads up and rolls right off of the outside leaving the jacket warm and dry. The light weight material is great for cool and cold weather and is very comfortable and good at protecting from wind.

This is a really cool looking jacket at a good price, however, the fit is very poor. I always worn a medium in North Face gear but had to get a large in this jacket. The chest was too small, the sleeves were too long (oddly, the sleeves seem to be disproportionately long to the rest of the jacket), and the armpit holes were very, very tight and restrictive. That caused very poor flexibility and range of motion in the shoulder joint. Also, a seemingly minor point, but one that proved to be a major annoyance: the fabric's interior makes it very difficult to pull your sleeves through the arms, getting them all bunched up in the process. Many other jackets allow you to simply slide your arms through, not this jacket. It's like pulling your arms through velcro! One last thing, the collar did not want to fold down, so it just stuck up in my face the whole time.
I have returned the jacket.

I have had this jacket for over a year and probably the best jacket I have ever owned. It is lightweight, but keeps me very warm in some low 30's type weather. Since this purchase I have purchased more NF products and love them all. I have washed the jacket a few times and still looks like new.

This is the best mid weight jacket around. I own two and my college age children each have one. They wear them all the time. They just add layers as the temperature drops. The wind proof design is the key and the water resistance is good for light rain.
They look great and wear very well.
