I have been on a waiting list for parts for 2.5 months of the 8 months I have owned the machine. I am very unhappy with it. They sent a person out to fix it who greased it and it's not supposed to be greased so now I have grease on my carpet.
Took two men to load on my vehicle (Truck) and two hours to unpack/Assemble. Recomend to haul parts to seup location VS setup and relocate. Unit is very heavy/Solid 285lbs. Instruction are great and assembly was no problem. Very Smooth/Solid operating system.
After going in to the store to purchase one of the other ellipticals in this same price range...we walked out with this one. It definitely had more bells and whistles. Although it had a lighter flywheel and slightly different stride, I felt like the options this machine had outweighed the other. I love the power incline (something the other elliptical did not have). I was bummed when my feet started to fall asleep on this machine, but after adjusting the incline to 40 or so it alleviated the problem for me. I also love all the programs and the smooth elliptical motion. We did however have some problems in the beginning. The control panel was not functioning properly. The sales associate at Dick's took great care of us and contacted the company. When they did not call right away the sales associate called them again. The company said they could ship a new console out in a couple days, but one of the other problems it was having (powering up but no incline, resistance or HR read out from chest strap) could be in the flywheel, which was only accessible by a technician. We would have had to wait close to 2 weeks at the least to get a tech out, so we opted to exchange it. [...] our new one works great. So far we have been very happy with the purchase and feel we made the right choice.
I searched for several months and did not want to spend over 1000 but my friends had bought the E900 but I saw the E1200 and bought that one and love it so quiet and didn't take more than 2 hours to put together have not had one problem with it. Really gives you a workout.
We bought this machine under the impression it was quit. After two days of an hour workout per day it has begun to make a clunking noise that is horrible. I have tried for three weeks to exchange this machine with Dick's and have not had any luck. The next step I am going to take is to return the machine.
Even though I did TUNS of research before this purchase was made apparently it was not enough.
buyer beware!
I work out before going to work everyday for 20 - 30 minutes. I really like the power incline it does work different muscles. The 17 lb fly wheel is better it puts less stress on your body than the E900. When your spending $1,000 on a machine go the extra for couple hundred a get the better model. The machine is good for toning leg and butt muscles!
I bought this elliptical several weeks ago.It took only one and one half hours to assemble (although the component parts are rather heavy and bulky).I immediately noticed a problem with fly wheel assembly which is not user accessable. Horizon argees it needs servicing, but in spite of four separate promises to resolve the issue and lots of time on the phone, the Horizon repair service denies that the have recieved an order to repair my elliptical. Each time I call someone insists they will correct the problem. But still no action. Dealing with Horizon has been quite time consuming and frustratiing. I guess it's buyer beware.
It was very easy to put together... allow about 2 hours. Just takes time to tighten the screws and bolts.
Since I have my elliptical on carpet it seems a little wobbly while working out at a rapid pace. Does not hinder the work out at all and probably would not be an issue if it was on a hard floor.
This machine will burn your legs and pump up your heart rate. You can find a setting that will do this to you as there are many resistances and inclines.
The IPOD cradle works well even with the IPOD touch. The elliptical is quite so I don't have to turn the IPOD volume up very much. I run it on vol. level 2.
I am a runner and i do a lot of cardio, and i bought this machine to change up my regiment. I love it. It plays my ipod with its built in speakers, and counts my calories and mileage which is very important to me, and is a great all aroud work out. Highly recomment... Easy to built too.
When I bought this unit, I thought I had finally found a reasonably priced elliptical that wasn't clunky. I started to put it together the day I got it only to find out that I was missing 3 different pieces. In addition, the electronic control panel didnt work. I called about this and customer service was a big help and shipped another control panel out which arrived in a few days. A hassle for sure, but at least customer service was helpful. Once finally put together and working, I got on the unit only to have it start squeaking loudly after 15 minutes of use. I consulted the manual which told me to take apart the entire unit and regrease all of the bolts. The unit was working great, but the sound unbearable. Hoping to get this resolved as the unit does work well but a lot of problems off the bat.

I just had high hopes I guess. It just feels like a toy when I wanted a real piece of exercise equipment...
