Got this piece of equipment on sale. I'm a stay at home dad that finds it hard to get to the gym. I have this set up in the garage and use it everyday. I can do almost every excersise that I do at the gym. This is well worth the money. I wasted money on a cheaper version in the past. This will complete your workout equipment for the house. You'll be amazed

I bought this because I needed something under 83 inches to fit in my basement, this was a tight squeeze but I managed to fit it. This is a great machine. I have used the gun rack and the pulley's on this and they are perfect. The set up was only hard because of the lack of room to build this. I did this by myself a couple of days after working 10 hour shifts. One person can put this together but I would suggest having someone carry this to the place you want to unpack it because the boxes are heavy. I have only one complaint, that I didn't receive the hex bolts to put on my olympic adaptors for my smith machine. I will be calling fitness gear for these, but other then that if I had to pick out a machine with the knowledge I have after using this one, I would still pick this one.

I bought this piece of equipment to complete my home gym. I am VERY satisfied with it since you can do so many exercises on it & hit all muscle groups. It does take a long time to set up, I think it took about 7 or 8 hours, but once it's done it is SO worth it!!!

This is a great piece of equipment. This offers many exercises. Easy to use. I read some reviews complaining that it is impossible to set up. While it did take a long time, you only need to know how to read the instructions and operate a socket to get this thing together. Don't hesitate to buy this.

-Smith and cables are very smooth-Angles in the pull-up bar are real nice-Changing plates for the cable exersizes is a minor hassle.-Well worth the [$] it's going for.-I like it better than other Functional trainers sold at "High-end" equipment stores for 3x the price. Plus you get the Smith Bar which is freakin' awesome. If you've never used a Smith bar, you have no idea what a great impact it has on your workout.

You will not find a better machine than this under [$]. Pulley and smith machine are super smooth, very sturdy. Instructions could be better, but most of the pulleys are already in place when you open the box. You can still use your own Olympic bar thanks to the gun rack holder.

Instructions are poorly written. Parts are not numbered. I spent over 5 hours putting this thing together. It comes in three heavy boxes. You will definitely need a helper.Lat pull down and seated row station are nice and smooth but when doing exercises with the cables on the front pulley the weight bar hangs up if you don't have it loaded with weight. I checked the routing of my cables several times and am sure it is correct.[...].Weight racks on the side are real handy, but watch you head. The bench station is smooth but if you don't position yourself in the exact right spot you'll know it. Unlike free weights when they're up you can get them centered, here you have to re-rack the bar and adjust your body or the bench or both. The cage is a little tight. When doing the lat pull-down the bar is kind of close to the sides.

I gave this 5 stars because I bought it in store for less than half the online price.

So far its a great unit, and the adjustable pulleys are what make this machine so versatile. I can literally do everything i did in the gym with this machine. Smith machine is smooth as silk. (not sure what the other reviewer was talking about, as he must not of put it together correctly) The linear bearings make the smith machine very very smooth.

I have been using it for about a month now, and i am loving it.

If i had anything negative to say about this unit it would be...

1. There is no "Manufacturer" to call for support or any specific questions regarding the machine. Since "Fitness Gear" is a Dick's brand, you have to go through their general support line who knows nothing specific about it.
2. The smith machine part, and the Lat Pulldown are placed kind of far back in the unit, which makes some exercises utilizing them kind of cramped.
3. The negative resistance is a little weak unless you put some more weight on the pulley system. The online picture shows what looks to be silver aluminum pulleys, but the unit actually comes with black nylon pulleys, which work fine, but upgrading to aluminum pulleys would be a nice option if offered, but like I said, there is no direct phone line to the manufacturer of this product to call and ask about upgrades.
