This gun is awesome, you can adjust the spin on it for use of lighter or heavy bb's on thoes windy days and to improve you're accuracy, and reloading is as simple as spinning a wheel. However, about a month after I bought this gun, it broke. That brought down my high respect for the crossman company, I thought they made top of the line guns, but now.....not so much

Best Starter Gun at Dick'sSporting Goods
By JoeVerified Reviewer from New Jersey on 7/11/2008
Pros:
Easy Hop-Up Adjust, Easy To Load, Great for CQB-CQC, High ROF-Rate of Fire, Metal Picatinny Rails, Punch Thru 1 Side of Can
Cons:
Low FPS-275, Mag Ejector Lever Wobbly, No Top Rail for Optics, Rear Drum Sight is Wobbly, Sling is Worthless
Best Uses:
Back Up Weapon, Backyard, CQB-Close Quarter Battle, Practice, Putting Plastic Downrange, Starter Gun for All Ages, Target Shooting
Describe Yourself:
Recreational User
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Ok let's call this what it is first, an LPEG - Low Powered (Priced) Electric Gun. It's modeled after a modified Keckler & Koch G3. This is not a main gun for serious airsofting, skirmishes/ MilSim. Although, it would serve as a fair back up if your main battle rifle craps out. This is perhaps the best starter gun sold at Dick'sSporting Goods right now. Price wise it's closer to $50 than $100, it has a great rate of fire, easy to handle for a youngster (especially if you slap a hand grip on the lower rail) and it's relatively accurate to 50-75 feet. Further than that your foe may not know he was hit. I made the mistake of spending a few extra dollars and buying the DPMS Field Duty kit as my first airsoft weapon. After one month there is more glue, wire ties and electrical tape holding the included M4 together than original screws. It looks cool in the bubble package but doesn't take a beating at all. The R72 on the other hand, by the very nature of being a more compact weapon is going strong. I wish Crossman had included a top mounted Picatinny rail for the addition of optics. Optics, while not necessary for a CQB-CQC gun do add a coolness factor and a holo type sight would be perfect on this gun. That being said I will probably epoxy one on or use one of the forearm rails for a laser. My almost 5 year old son can even shoulder this gun and put plastic on a target 25 feet away. So kids to wrap it up, not for hard core airsoft warriors, no top optics mount, buy a real sling if yo want to keep it around your shoulder (not on the ground in a half dozen pieces), great ROF, looks good, lots o' fun and a great starter gun for under $70.

this is really something. It hit my target everytime from around 50 feet with .12! When I got up close it ripped right through thick cardboard in about three shots. The battery has lasted two hours and counting (got it a couple of days ago)Only jammed once so far, but I just switched to full auto, then switched backed and it was fine. Hop up works great and it is our most accurate gun. It does not feel cheap in any way. It has atleast 310 fps with .12 pellets and clip holds 350.

I bought this gun for my son to start out with and I got schooled real quick. I own an olympic gun and this one is almost as good if not just as good. Use heavy .2g BB's in brush and look out this tears through it. CQB no problem with the amount of BB's coming out. For Milsims this is my new CQB weapon of choice...

Cons:
Battery would fall off, Breaks easily, Hard to empty the clip, Inaccurate, LOADING sUCKS
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

This gun was difficult to assemble. The thing that holds the battery in place falls off easy. The thing that holds the BBs broke, which meant you could not load BBs into the chamber. The strap broke off while I was playing. It it not very accurate. Whenever you shoot it the BBs will curve very far to the left which made it difficult to shoot at a target. Overall I WOULD NOT recommend bying this gun.

This gun is accurate. The only bad part about any airsoft gun is that shooting in the wind which is above 5 mph that it can blow as much as ten feet of corse. I would recommend this to anybody.

Cons:

This guns not that bad. Great for recreational use. It double feeds on semi periodically so I keep it on full auto. I do wish the velocity was higher. Other than that it is a decent gun for the price.

Accurate, CQB Weapon, Easy To Load, High Velocity, Quite Reloading Perfect
Cons:
Sling snags cocking-lever
Best Uses:
Accurate in CQB, CQB, LiveFire CQB, Training
Describe Yourself:
Recreational User
Bottom Line:

I use the Crosman Pulse-R72 mostly as a training weapon -or- CQB tool. Ez to yield to my chest to eliminate shadows around corners. has a very soft sounding reload so no more clink clank. Rate of fire is perfect-seems a lil more faster than 275fps.
Did a little test on max damage:
notebook paper->yes
carboard->yes
plastic bag->yes
2-liter*w/o cap->yes w/cap->no
Pop can->yes

BtW: Not that it is a dis-like of mine. It just simply rests to close to the ejection port knob.(located above the left rail, and only some times does it get snagged. All n all it is a great weapon:Score 8 / 10

fun gun for beginners

Cons:
Battery load is hard, Inaccurate, Scope/Sight Is Off
Best Uses:
Backyard, woods
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:

this gun is great for beginners, and i highly recomend it to amatuer arsofters. the good thing about this gun is that it probobly has more fps than 280, and it still has kich from 100 feet away. the bad thing about this gun is that the battery is a pain in the neck to put back in after charging.

ps. use biodegradable pellets, there better quality and are cheaper than plastic krudy pellets, help save the environment one step at a time.

Great Gun Period. Both Semi and Auto are accurate.I was shooting a TV box and the BB's went half way through the box. Works really good with the BB's the gun comes with. They are .20 gram white heavy duty BB's.

Almost a 5

Cons:
Some parts arent the best

The product is very good like it. Its high velcity rate of fire and features such as rails and the adujustable sight really comes in handy.
The only reason its given a 4 out of 5 is because the carrying sling is garbage it sometimes jams in semi-auto but switch to full auto fire off a couple and sewmi should unjam. But other than that it would haver recived a five

This gun is the most incredable gun i have ever s shot. i have had one trouble with it but easy to fix here's what you HAVE TO KNOW BEFORE YOU USE GUN:it only shoots if the main resevoir and ready chamber are loaded, you have to crank the wheel at least 20-25 times before you shoot(it loads the bbs into the gun. ovrall this is the best gun ever, it can shoot about 10 bbs in 2 seconds at the most so in one sqeeze it kindof comes out like a shotgun because it shoots so many!!!! it kills to get shot with it and its soooo accurate the hop up rocks BUY THIS GUN...........NOW!!!!!

I loved this gun when i first shot it. it shot like 10 bbs per second and it was accurate and had great!! fps. the bad thing that is kind of a HUGE THING is that it jammed/ stopped working after about 2 minutes once I started using it.i'm looking in to it now but i think you better now how to repair guns if you buy this. the reason i gave it a 4/5 is because it was awsome before it broke but after it broke i'd give it a 1/5. dissapionting if this happens. i'd probably still recomned it only because it might be easy to fix i dont know.?!

on the first day i opened it, i did every thing the instructions said, including waiting 5 hours for the battery to charge -_-. well. first time i played for about 15 mins with a friend. worked fine. i switched to auto still fine. however, when i went back to semi then to auto again, it shot semi on auto..... i didnt know what was up. so i switched all the way down to safe then to auto again. still shot semi... so im not to sure what happned but something in there got messed up pretty bad. i plan on taking it to the store to return it tomorow. il probably exchange it or get a refund... then buy another airsoft gun but nicer beacuse i got about 70 dollars in christmas money.
